vintage bike with a hole in, how to fill it?
I have a vintage bike that has a hole in the fork, a light used to be attached. How can I fill this hole with a load and if so what sort. I need to mesh into the hole.
you could probably use some Bondo.
if you want to repaint the bike together and there is not anything too special about the fork, why not take another forking another bike that has no hole in it?

As it turns out, the Peugeot had been stolen — like two other bikes before it — and the penny-farthing was the only working-order bike in Matthews’ sizable vintage bicycle collection. That’s not to say, however, that Matthews doesn’t like the occasional ride on the 120-year-old bike, which weighs 35 pounds and requires little maintenance due to the lack of parts like chains or inner-tubes. Matthews, an employee in the Arlington County communications department and self-professed lover of “old stuff,” has been riding a bike to work every day for 10 years now. Priced at £33, the aluminium version of this bicycle was probably the most expensive bicycle available at the time. Humber first used aluminium tubing in cycling construction in 1898. Of course there was no means of welding the tubes at that time so it suited perfectly their ‘detachable joint’ method of construction which was patented in 1896. Thus 5/8 inch of length adjustment can be obtained. The wheels are 28 x 1 3/8 inches, a size for which tyres are now completely obsolete....
