i need to lighten my bench, and I think to get a new fork, pedals, tires and wheels.

Spend your money on a good set of wheels and tires first. Period. Unless your fork is really crappy or worn, except that for the next round.

This is an area of the fork that Rockshox have identified as prone to flex as the metal is narrower due to the fork bushings. This is the latest incarnation of one of the winningest cross country forks ever - the SID. By upping the diameter of the fork legs you increase the stiffness considerbly without compromissing the weight as the tube diameters can also be narrower as the load is spread more. Rockshox thought long and hard about how they were going to breathe new life into the venerable SID and they have solved the problem in a number of ways....
