How do I build a bicycle generator for use with LED lights (I saw one used as an aide project for India)?
I want to reduce my electricity consumption by trying to go solar but I have limited resources (money and knowledge). I need free plans and instructions on how to build and simple procedures for the maintenance, care and use of the system.
You need a generator that has a tiny wheel inside that touches the wheel and when the wheel turns the wheel turns dynamo.
The wheel is connected to coils of copper loads and generates electricity by friction.

my back light went on the bolt that holds the back basket, and after some side-grinder work on the bracket to fit, my front light went on near the axle. Screws to mount lights to brackets were missing. Mounting locations are limited because the light must face forward/backward, and works best if parallel to the motion of the magnet. If they won’t mount, you won’t waste a trip to return them. My front was covered with a rubber rainproof seal, and mounting would allow rain/rust in. The back axle has the gears on one side, and the quick-release on the other. These were supposed to mount on the axles, but won’t. Axles are very busy places. no way to mount this....
